A lasting power of Attorney (LPA) is a legal document that names and registers the Attorney or Attorneys, the person(s) whom you trust and whom you want to be your Attorney (s) and who will make decisions on your behalf in the case when you (the Donor) may be unable to make.

That is why someone must take control of your affairs in advance, at a time when you have the capacity to appoint someone you trust to make those decisions on your behalf at a later date. This can be done by setting up an LPA. There are two types of LPA, namely (1) Property and Financial Affairs Lasting Power of Attorney; and (2) Health and Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney.
